These healthy crackers are a tasty homemade snack, and with 4 types of seeds, they’re full of nutritional benefits. No flour or nuts means this recipe is grain-free, paleo, and vegan. A healthy and yummy cracker means you can go a little crazier with the topics. Win-win, if you ask me! They are very nutrient dense so you will find these crackers keep you fueled for so much longer.
All of the ingredients are both gluten and nut-free. They’re also grain-free and filled with protein, fibre, and tons of nutrients.
Flax Seeds (broken)
Dried Herbs or Spices (your choice, I used chilli and garlic powder)
Sesame Seeds (optional)
This recipe is ridiculously easy.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (fan-forced) and line an oven tray with baking paper.
Mix the seeds and seasonings in a large bowl, then pour the water over the entire mixture. Allow it to sit for ten minutes while the oven preheats. The chia and ground flax will form a gel.
Spread the mixture evenly on the baking paper once it thickens. Use a spatula or the back of a large spoon to get it to around 1cm thickness.
Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and cut into squares using a sharp knife or pizza wheel.
Flip the crackers over and bake them until they’re browned and crispy. This will depend on your oven, but in my oven, this is about 15 minutes.
Remove the crackers from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
Store them in an airtight container or Ziplock bag for 7-10 days.
